My interests in innovative design led me to help develop the first 3D printed jet engine to have an integrated monitoring system, the XPlorerer-1, which won SolidWorks Project of the Year 2017. Role included CAD work using SolidWorks, and testing/analysing through 3D printing. Also gained experience in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis and FEA (Finite Element Analysis). As Team Leader, I was responsible for three undergraduate students and two masters students. Our team worked on simulations, testing, materials, shafts and connections and interdisciplinary engineering.
